Principal’s Message
“Our aim is to build people of Godly character through Christ-centred education and empower and equip students for the future.”
Bethel Christian School was established by a group of parents ‘who desired Christian Education as a partner in the growth and education of their children’. This ongoing partnership affirms the plan of God for all students (mankind) to be conformed into the image of God.
Genesis 1:27 ‘So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.’
Romans 8:29 ‘For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son…,’

Student
Development
Foundational to what we do at Bethel Christian School is the belief that all students have been created in God’s image. He has a plan for their life, and He wants to work in them and through them. Student Development is one of the key priorities and is focused on across the year-levels. The staff are committed to making school a welcoming and safe place for student learning. There are so many opportunities for Student Development such as morning devotions, form time, Assemblies, Worship services, Christian Living classes, Community Service, Music, Sport, Outdoor Education, camps, excursions, lunch programs, leadership opportunities, and service teams. By giving students experiences in these types of activities helps them develop their God-given identity, confidence, resilience, and have a good self-esteem.
The Bible says in Matthew 22:39b that 'you shall love your neighbour as yourself', so helping students develop Godly character to be image-bearers of Christ gives them a strong sense of belonging that is foundational to student wellbeing which in turn leads to a higher level of student engagement.
Empowering &
Equipping
Students
At Bethel Christian School, we have a wonderful opportunity to empower and equip students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Being a K-12 school means we can map a child’s educational pathway from Early Childhood through to Senior school. This unique aspect of our school helps staff to work together with curriculum planning, academic enrichment, learning support, etc. Being guided by the principles, practice, and outcomes of the Belonging, Being & Becoming: Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (2023) means that children in the Early Learning Centre are given the support they need to develop their learning during this period. As they move further up in the Primary School (Year 3-6), the skills they acquired during the early years are expanded. The WA Curriculum has eight learning areas that include seven general capabilities as well as cross curricula priorities.
At Bethel Christian School, the staff have been developing both an Engagement Playbook as well as an Instructional Practice Playbook that focuses on empowering and equipping students with the necessary skills to apply to their learning. Having a strong sense of identity leads to belonging, which is foundational to student engagement. When students feel they belong to a community, it is evidenced by their enthusiasm for learning, and their willingness to engage with learning. In the Senior School, the staff work closely with the students in mapping out their pathway and what they need to do to prepare for their future career. Our vision statement highlights the importance of students being properly equipped with character development and the skills needed to make a difference in whatever pathway they choose.
Knowing that we have been created by God, and that He has a plan to work both in us and through us is foundational to helping the students become image-bearers of Christ. The staff are passionate about what we do at Bethel Christian School, and they are very committed to empowering and equipping the students now and into the future.
