A few places remain!

We believe that the experiences children have during their early years are crucial for their development in both school and life. By nurturing each child's academic, social and spiritual growth, we are investing in their future and in the world around us.

We recognise that every child is uniquely created by God, and it is our mission to serve Him by fostering their identity as learners and children of God. We achieve this through intentional and meaningful learning experiences that empower children to take an active role in their learning journey.

Our staff purposefully employ a variety of effective teaching methods, including play-based, nature-based, investigative, project-based, and direct instruction, to support this process.

Pre-Kindy

🖍️🧸🧃✨📚

In our Pre-Kindy program, we are committed to creating an engaging, play-based learning environment where your child can explore, discover, and create. Through guided learning, we foster social and emotional growth while building a strong sense of belonging and wonder. Our child-led approach, supported by caring staff, encourages children to take ownership of their learning journey, empowering them with agency and control over their interests. As your child learns and plays, they will also grow in knowledge and understanding, knowing that God loves them.

Together, we build a supportive Pre-Kindy community where each child can feel safe, valued, and excited to imagine, explore, and grow.

Kindy

Kindergarten is a special time for children to develop a love for learning, explore their interests, and build foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and fine motor development. It’s a year of excitement and discovery, offering a balance of structure and freedom that supports each child’s individual pace. Through hands-on, play- based and nature activities, children engage with the world around them, fostering curiosity, a love for exploration and the world God has created for them.

Kindergarten is crucial for social and emotional development. Children learn to cooperate, share, solve problems, and regulate their emotions while building independence and self-confidence. Play and group activities help them develop communication skills, form friendships, and build resilience.

In a warm, supportive environment, children are encouraged to lead their own learning, making it both meaningful and fun. Kindergarten is not just about academics, but about growing as confident, capable learners, ready for success in school and beyond.

Pre-Primary

🛝🧃🎨🖍️📚

In Pre-Primary students begin to develop foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and begin to make connections between their learning and their personal experiences, fostering a shared sense of teamwork. Students enter Pre-Primary with varying levels of ability, and teaching staff tailor learning experiences to meet each child's individual needs and ongoing collection of assessment, data and observations helps staff to track students' progress, identify areas of need, and assess their levels of understanding.

Through a combination of explicit teaching and play-based learning, students become competent in early literacy concepts such as letter sounds, letter recognition, blending sounds, and decoding simple words. They begin writing basic sentences, using their growing fine motor skills and knowledge of letter-sound relationships. In numeracy, students focus on numbers up to 20, with a strong introduction to addition, shapes, measurement, and data collection. Students develop an understanding about God in their lives through key stories in the bible, worship; and prayer, including the Lords Prayer.

Pre-Primary nurtures a strong sense of belonging as students grow in their identity as learners, peers, and members of the larger school community. As children transition from parallel play to co-operative play, educators provide both structured and contextual support, allowing them to become more skilled in navigating social interactions, resolving conflict, and understanding the impact of their actions on others. This helps them build self-awareness and strengthen their social connections with peers and their learning environment.

Year 1

In Year 1, students are provided with a supportive environment that fosters the development of independence in both social skills and daily routines. These opportunities help build their confidence as contributors to their world and as learners. Through explicit teaching, hands on activities and real-life applications, students are encouraged to enhance their thinking and questioning skills, and communicate their ideas through various mediums.

Academically, students continue to deepen their understanding of foundational concepts in literacy and mathematics. They become confident readers of decodable words found in their everyday environment and apply phonetic knowledge to spell words independently. Students explore numbers up to 120 and develop addition and subtraction skills, which supports their ability to solve simple mathematical problems. Students continue to learn about God through worship songs, memorising bible verses and opportunities to explore their own life connections to Him.

As they progress, students develop a strong sense of belief in themselves as learners and peers, recognising how their growing foundational skills are coming together to prepare them for more complex tasks ahead.
